Austin-area birders got a little bit of relief from the summer birding doldrums when this Brown Booby appeared at a small neighborhood duck pond. A tropical seabird. they occasionally show up far inland, especially during the summer months. This bird, an adult female, was so photogenic it needed its own page. At the time these photos were taken, the bird appeared healthy, but unfortunately, despite our community’s best hopes, it was found deceased after a few days. These photos will remain up as a remembrance.
